The Western Sydney Wanderers Academy has received another boost with 12 players selected in the Young Socceroos and Australian Schoolboys.
With the Australian U20 team preparing for the AFF Championships taking place in Vietnam, Keanu Baccus, Jackson Bandiera, Tariq Maia, Lachlan Scott, Mario Shabow and Liam Youlley will all make the trip to Hanoi.
Australia takes on Cambodia, Myanman, Indonesia, Thailand and Laos in the group stages with the team hopeful of qualifying for the semi-final and final.
Wanderers are the only club with six representatives in the squad.
Meanwhile, six other players from the Wanderers Academy have been selected in the Australian Schoolboys team after being identified at the recent School Sports Australia National Championships in Perth.
Defender Lachlan Campbell was named as MVP for the tournament and will play for Australia alongside Alex Gollan, Daniel Blachura, Ben Morrison, Daniel Axford and Oliver Puflett.
Campbell and Blachura have played for the Red & Black’s NPL2 team this season while the others have all played both U18s and U20s for the Wanderers Academy.
All six players played a part in the U18s winning the premiership last weekend. All grades will play in a grand final qualifier next weekend.
