A vastly experienced central defender who can also step into defensive midfield, Alberto was the fourth Spaniard to join the Wanderers squad for the 2015/16 season.

A product of the Malaga youth system, Alberto has spent his entire career in Spain, most notably with Getafe, whom he helped reach the 2006/07 Copa del Rey final.

After a 2008 loan spell at Granada 74 CF, Alberto amassed over 200 appearances combined for Segunda division sides Albacete, Cordoba and Ponferradino.

The veteran joined the Wanderers as the club’s final international signing on 9 August 2015, made his debut against Palm Beach Sharks in the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 16 and scored his first goal against Newcastle Jets in Round 12.

Alberto departed the Wanderers at the conclusion of his contract on Thursday 5 May 2016.
