Baccus, Uzunlar take out top honours at Wanderers Medal 2019

Keanu Baccus and Servet Uzunlar have taken out the Wanderers Medal for Player of the Year at tonight’s Wanderers Medal at Riverside Theatre in Parramatta.

21-year-old Baccus has featured in almost every match for the Red & Black this season and has been a force to be reckoned with since graduating from the Wanderers Academy.

The midfielder was voted by his fellow peers as the winner of the Wanderers Medal, capping off a fantastic season for the youngster who scored three goals and was called up to the Olyroos.

Westfield W-League captain and foundation player Servet Uzunlar was awarded the Wanderers Medal for Westfield W-League Player of the Year, after returning back to the club this season.

A leader on-and-off the park, Uzunlar featured in 11 matches for the club.

Hyundai A-League midfielder Roly Bonevacia was voted Wanderers Members’ Player of the Year and also received the Rod Allen: Media Player of the Year Award, as voted by media representatives.

For the second year running, Hyundai A-League striker Oriol Riera took out the Golden Boot Award while Westfield W-League goalkeeper Jada Whyman was voted Members’ Westfield W-League Player of the Year. 

Young gun Fabian Monge was named Foxtel Y-League Player of the Year.

Monge featured in every match of the Wanderers Foxtel Y-League campaign and played an instrumental role in the team’s run to the Grand Final.

Other awards saw Matthew Mallows named Powerchair Player of the Year, Kylie Ledbrook claimed the Westfield W-League Golden Boot, Ronald Stonestreet win the Chairman’s Award for his contribution to the community, while Kellie van Gool was named the Wanderers Volunteer of the Year.
