The NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers will this Thursday play their final pre-season fixture when they take on the Bankstown City Lions at Jensen Park, Sefton.
This will be the squad-s final hit-out before the season proper commences with the Wanderers taking on the Central Coast Mariners at Parramatta Stadium on Saturday, 6 October with kick-off at 7.45pm.
Coach Tony Popovic said with the pre-season coming to an end it will be a good indicator as to where the side are at heading into their inaugural season.
“We-re getting closer and it-s good to see that all our hard work at training is starting to pay off with the guys looking fit and healthy,” Popovic said. “Bankstown will be a good test and will be a good hit-out for us.
“Obviously we are looking towards October 6 but these are all stepping stones that are forming us as a club.
It-s been enjoyable being able to play these matches in our local community and we look forward to everyone coming to see us play at Parramatta Stadium.”
The Bankstown City Lions will host the Wanderers with details for the fixture as follows:
