Captain Michael Beauchamp yesterday spoke with the media prior to the Wanderers trip to Adelaide where they will face Adelaide United.

After a promising opening match in the Hyundai A-League, it will be a huge test against a United side who are coming off a 2-nil victory over the Newcastle Jets.

“They (Adelaide) played really well last week, it will be another test for us and will give us a gauge of where we-re at,” Beauchamp said. “Being a new side we can-t underestimate anyone in this competition so
each week we have to prepare as if it will be our toughest match yet.”

On the Wanderers preparation the former Socceroo believes it has been another quality week at training.

“We-re enjoying our time at training and it-s been a good week of preparation.”

After receiving the news of Adelaide-s Dario Vidosic pulling out due to injury, Beauchamp was quick to stress that the Wanderers won-t be able to drop their guard.

“We-ve heard about Vidosic maybe being out, if he-d not playing it-s a blow to them but they have such a good squad that someone will come in and play a similar role which we will need to watch.”

The number one question on everyone-s mind is whether star signing Shinji Ono will start the match or not.

“It-s totally up to the boss (Coach Tony Popovic), he has had another full week of training and has looked good and he is putting pressure on them (coaching staff) to give him a start which is the way you want it to be.”
