Cannuli named Female Coach of the Year at Female Football Awards

Wanderers legend and Westfield W-League Assistant Coach Catherine Cannuli has today been named the Female Coach of the Year at the Female Football Awards held at the Ivy in Sydney this morning.

The former Matilda was part of the Wanderers’ inaugural Westfield W-League side in 2012 and is the club’s all-time women’s leading goal scorer.

Following a very successful playing career, Cannuli made her transition into coaching and has already developed impressive credentials as an assistant coach along with her role as Women’s Technical Director at Southern Districts Football Association.

A leader both on and off the field, Cannuli was also recognised as a role model for both professional sportswomen and entrepreneurs, after starting her own business at the end of her professional playing career.

The Wanderers had nominees in every category at the annual Female Football Awards. Courtney Nevin was nominated for the Role Model Award, S&C Intern Mikayla Mantouroglou was nominated for Female Administrator of the Year, volunteer Kellie van Gool was nominated for Female Fan of the Year while head coach Dean Heffernan was nominated for the Male Champion of the Year Award.
