Christian Layland

Christian started his formative coaching years on the Far North Coast in 2008, serving as an assistant in junior and senior football at Goonellabah Hornets, Kyogle FC, Italo Stars and Richmond Rovers.

He would then venture south to Melbourne with head coach roles at Brighton Soccer Club in 2012 and 2013 before taking on his first elite role as trainer of the Victoria U15 Girls and assistant of the FFV Elite Athletes Program.
 
Following a stint as assistant of Victoria Country U13 Boys, Christian joined Football NSW as assistant of the FNSW Institute 13 Boys where he helped guide them at the Gyeongju International Youth Tournament (Korea) and FFA National Youth Championships.
 
During this time, Christian returned briefly to the Far North Coast on a short-term appointment with Premier League club Ballina Soccer Club followed by his appointment as head coach of the Metro West U13 Boys in 2015, a role he continued in 2016 with the U14s and U15s.
 
Christian joined the Wanderers in 2015 as assistant coach for the NPL2 U20 team. He holds an AFC C Licence awaiting assessment for his B Licence.
