The Western Sydney Wanderers are proud to announce the return of defender Caitlin Cooper for the Westfield W-League 2018/19 season.

Cooper joined the Wanderers in 2013 and a solid first season for the club saw her named the club’s captain a year later.

Despite picking up a freak injury during a Matildas match against China in 2015/16, Cooper came back stronger than ever and a fantastic 2016/17 season saw her named the Wanderers Westfield W-League Player of the Year.

Cooper made the switch to the club’s cross-city rivals last season and is pleased to be back at home with the Wanderers this Westfield W-League season.

“I’m really excited to be back at the Wanderers especially playing under Dan,” said Cooper.

“I’ve always enjoyed my time at the Wanderers and when the opportunity presented itself to come back I took it and I am super excited to get started.

“My personal goals have always been the same and won’t change – be the very best player, teammate and person I can be and the rest will fall into place.

“Finals are 110% my goal and in helping create an environment within the team of success, belief and positivity, we will no doubt achieve this year.

“Aside from that, I’d like to make the World Cup squad for France and I’ll be doing everything I can to make that tour.

“And with the strength of the team around me at the Wanderers, I’ll be pushed to new levels and I will hopefully book myself a ticket on that plane.”
