Cornthwaite: We want to win every game

Robbie Cornthwaite says the boys want to continue their good form in the Hyundai A-League heading into the finals and will be aiming to continue the Club’s winning culture.

The Wanderers have recently had a good run in the domestic competition and are undefeated in their last five matches.

This Saturday, the Wanderers will travel to Coopers Stadium to take on Adelaide United and Cornthwaite believes that the squad will have the edge over the hosts.

“I think we’ve been on a pretty good run of late.

“We had a tough game in the Champions League on Tuesday but I thought we played quite well, our league form has been very good so we want to continue that obviously leading into the finals.

“This Saturday we’ll be looking to continue that and get the three points so nothing changes really from our point of view,” said Cornthwaite.

Although the Wanderers are unable to reach higher than fifth place, Cornthwaite says the Red & Black will still be hunting for the three points just like any other week.

“We want to win every game and that’s the culture that we built at this Club.

“Over the course of this Club’s history that’s always the aim – win games and win trophies.

“Doesn’t matter if it’s a friendly here at training or it’s an A-League competitive match, we want to win every game we play.

“Adelaide had a good result mid-week so I’m sure they will be full of confidence after that result and we know it’s not going to be an easy game.”
