After a third successive clean sheet, Goal Keeper Ante Covic is happy with where the Wanderers are at with their performances and hopes the good form can continue over the coming weeks and into the start of the Hyundai A-League season.

The Wanderers added a 2-nil victory last night against Blacktown City to the growing list of victories that started with a 5-nil victory over Nepean FC and a 2-nil victory last week against Spartans FC.

Covic, 37, is positive and confident with how the Wanderers are looking at this stage of the pre-season.

“We-ve got to be happy, three games and three victories,” Covic said. “We-ve been positive in the way we-ve played and defensively it-s another clean sheet so we can-t ask for much more than that.

We-re playing some good football and doing the things that Popa (Coach Tony Popovic) has been drilling into us.”

The former Newcastle Jets and Melbourne Victory player said the squad is high in confidence and looking to improve over time.

“Confidence plays a huge role in football and I think at the moment we-re high on confidence,” Covic added. “Popa has a positive outlook on things, everyone knows it-s not going to be easy but we-re going to be prepared as best we can come season kick off.”
