Goal Keeper Ante Covic today spoke to the media prior to the first ever Sydney Derby against Sydney FC and believes you definitely go into these kind of matches with a bit more fire in your belly.
The 37-year-old has been a part of ‘Melbourne Derby- and knows that the Sydney version will be played in a very similar nature.
”I-ve obviously played in the Melbourne Derby and they are played in great stadiums with great atmosphere,” Covic said. “We saw in our first match how much passion the Wanderers fans have and Parramatta Stadium is a great place to play football so it will definitely be a spectacle.
“It-s very exciting, it will be a great match-up, it-s sold-out and I-m sure everyone will be right behind us at our home match.
“We want to stamp our authority on the derby and make it our own.”
After a disappointing result in the match against Adelaide, Covic said that the squad had moved on and shifted their focus to what is in front of them.
“It was obviously disappointing to have a loss, we would-ve liked to have come away with something but we made an error but we-ve moved on.”
