Dorrans joins the club after an extensive career overseas where he has played for clubs such as West Brom, Norwich, Rangers and Dundee FC.

With nearly 400 professional games under his belt, Dorrans’ career has overlapped with assistant coach Kenny Miller and forward Simon Cox’s careers.

“(Simon Cox) we played together at West Brom. I’m looking forward to being back together,” said Dorrans.

“We had a successful time being promoted together and he’s someone I connected well with on and off the pitch.

“Obviously, I know Kenny, so I know the demands and the way he wants football to be played as well.

“Hopefully we can bring a bit of success to the club this season.”

With Dorrans set to link up with the Wanderers in early December, the midfielder said he was looking forward to getting started as soon as he can.

“I’m delighted to be coming over and grateful for the opportunity to play for the club,” said Dorrans.

“After speaking with the manager (Carl Robinson) and hearing the vision he has for the club and the way he wants to play I think it’s a brand of football that really suits my game.

“It’s a league I have watched from a distance and really enjoyed watching it so I’m looking forward to getting over and starting as soon as I can.”
