The Wanderers Westfield W-League team will be looking to build on their performance last Sunday against Victory, which saw them defeated 2-1.

First half goals by Natasha Dowie and Christie Nairn got the ball rolling, before Wanderer Kylie Ledbrook’s screamer from outside the box gave Victory fans an anxious final 20 minutes.

The Red & Black dominated the second half and were very unlucky to have not got something out of the Westfield W-League fixture.

Tonight, the team switch their attention to Canberra United, who head into the match after a clinical 2-0 victory over the Sky Blues on Sunday.

Goals to Rhoda Mulaudzi and Karly Roestbakken’s at either side of half-time gave Canberra United an unassailable lead and they now sit equal-fourth with Brisbane Roar.

Canberra will be looking to continue their surge to the top of the table and the Wanderers will need to be wary of Heather Garriock’s women. In the two sides previous meeting, Canberra United defeated the Wanderers 2-0 at McKellar Park.

Michelle Heyman and Elise Thorsnes scored in quick succession in the second half to snatch all three points.

The Hyundai A-League squad, on a similar note, will be looking to bounce back from last Saturday’s match against Victory that saw them dominated 4-0.

Melbourne Victory ran rampant against the Wanderers and there is no doubt that the squad will be looking to make amends and secure their first three home points at home this season.

Central Coast Mariners come into the match after a disappointing loss to Sydney FC.

A first-half strike to Matt Simon wasn’t enough at Central Coast Stadium as a Brandon O’Neill screamer clinched a 2-1 win for the Sky Blues.

The Mariners are yet to win a game this season and will tonight be fighting to pull themselves o the bottom of the Hyundai A-League ladder. The last time these two sides met, the Red & Black were the runaway winners at Central Coast Stadium.

Goals in the first half by Jaushua Sotirio and Oriol Riera were enough to secure the three points in the Round 19 fixture.
