ROUND 1 FIXTURES PREVIEW

Round 1 has some exciting match-ups between experienced competitors from last season and the new debutants. The adjustment from playing at home to playing live in front of thousands is an may prove a deciding factor in Round 1.

MATCH-UP ONE: Central Coast Mariners vs Brisbane Roar FC

PS4: JesseD1996 vs AussieFIFAHD

The match-up between these two debutants could be an absolute cracker as a result of both competitors coming into the E-League with some consistent form in FUT Champions.

Both competitors have to make an adjustment to playing live under the bright studio lights, but AussieFIFAmay have confidence from his ability to keep his 2.1k YouTube subscribers entertained. If one competitor settles in early, be prepared for a show!

Xbox: KyrenFIFA vs AKP0

Season 1 Veteran “King” Kyren Gupta has returned and takes on one of the Brisbane Roar FC’s debutant competitors, AKP0. Kyren will be looking to take advantage of last year’s experience and turn that into an early positive result for the Mariners.

AKP0 will need to calm his nerves early, and have confidence in his FIFA 19 ability to ensure that Kyren doesn’t strike early.

MATCH-UP TWO:  Wellington Phoenix vs Sydney FC

PS4: oCenk_ vs Joshawaa

In the second game to take place on the PlayStation 4 console, the Sydney FC substitute will be looking to make up for the sizeable hole that Marko leaves while attending the FUT Champions Cup in Atlanta.

The competitors making their debuts will look to impress their new clubs with Joshawaa’s substitution resulting in an entirely new line-up for Sydney FC.

Xbox: Justmanutd1 vs NFamous_Shadow8

The game between these two competitors is undoubtedly going to be one of the tighter matches of Round 1.

NFamous Shadow is well known throughout the community for being a consistent believer in the 3-5-2 and it would be expected that he won’t move away from the entertaining style that comes along with it.

Justin’s run of form has been very consistent and has been complimented by some deep runs at the qualifying events for the FUT Champions Cups. The returning Season 1 competitor will be hoping to establish control of the tie early on and avoid being overrun by the width that NFamous attacks with.

MATCH-UP THREE: Melbourne Victory vs Melbourne City FC

PS4: Sarge_FIFA vs saisanas

Sarge makes his E-League debut against last season’s Perth Glory representative Saisanas in this E-Melbourne Derby.

Mates off the field, once the controllers are on and the game is underway, there will be no hiding place for either competitor.

Both competitors have trained together in the lead-up to the E-League and as is the case for most games, it will be a matter of who adapts to the pressure and mind-games faster.

Xbox: Mouad (mozwed) Zwed vs Storm Noa

The Victory Veteran MoZwed faces off against Melbourne City FC’s substitute Storm Noa in the second half of the Melbourne Derby.

Melbourne City FC will be hoping Storm will be able to cause an upset against Mo, who will be very thankful that he only has to play one console this year with the introduction of substitutes.

During the recently passed Weekend League, Mo substituted on Kosta Barbarousses and he managed to get an assist and a goal with the first few touches of the game.

After the performance in an intense weekend league game, he is a lock to start game 1 of Mo’s E-League Season.

MATCH-UP FOUR: Newcastle Jets vs Adelaide United

PS4: Fweshest vs RickTran

The second last match-up brings us our first game between two returning E-League Season 1 competitors.

The two competitors will be wanting to make a good impression for their new clubs with both being transferred in the E-League off-season.

Both also come into this edition of the E-League adding live event experience under their belts. Rick has an EASPORTS FIFA live event under his belt, and Fweshest made a cross-game switch to a Fortnite live event a few months ago.

Xbox: Liz vs Jamie O’Doherty

The Xbox leg of this match-up sees Newcastle Jets’ new talent Liz coming up against E-League Season 1 competitor Jamie O’Doherty.

Jamie will be riding a wave of confidence from his recently secured qualification to another FUT Champions Cup.

Liz will be hoping to catch Jamie slightly off guard and as proven last year, in FIFA anything can happen.

MATCH-UP FIVE: Western Sydney Wanderers FC vs Perth Glory

PS4: Tyrone vs StridentCorn

Western Sydney Wanderers FC substitute Tyrone comes in for this game against StridentCorn in another match pitting two debutants against each other.

Tyrone will have some confidence off the back of a high volume wins in the weekend leagues.

Perth local StridentCorn was selected by the Gloryin the E-League draft and is looking to back his home state proud and fight for the Perth Glory badge.

Xbox: OhNoAGoat vs HighFly

Another game that is a straight throwback to E-League Season 1, this match may bring out a fair amount of banter between the two competitors. Both competitors have signed for N8 Esports in the off-season and have spent time training and playing together as a result.

Both were retained by their previous clubs and will be wanting to repay the faith shown in them and turn that into a good result on day 1.
