Wanderers attacker Lee Falkon spoke to the media ahead of Friday night’s clash against Melbourne Victory about life in Australia and our performances in the Westfield W-League.

The Wanderers Westfield W-League squad had a bye over the weekend and spent their time off playing in a practice match and visiting the sights of Sydney.

“I think it was really good to have this weekend off and not focus for one week,” said Falkon.

“It was very good to prepare for our next game.

“We went into the city and walked around, it’s very laid back.”

The Wanderers will be looking to move on from their 1-0 loss to Brisbane in their last match with Falkon assuring that the team will get better as time goes on in the Westfield W-League.

“We could have taken those points,” said Falkon.

“It was a hard match, they were playing really good and we were chasing them the whole game trying to get that goal.

“We didn’t do it this time but we were so close that we have this feeling where next game we will get it.

“It’s going to get better for the next games.”

The Red & Black will now travel to Lakeside Stadium for Friday night’s clash against Melbourne Victory with Falkon looking forward to the match and the atmosphere.

“Every game here, I am super excited and it’s fun to play here.

“It’s fun to play for the club and the team.

“I always find when people are coming to support women’s football it’s always very nice to see and obviously, it’s nicer to play with a better atmosphere and when that happens it gives us a lot of support.

“It’s very important and I really appreciate that people come out to watch us.”
