An experienced, powerful forward with a host of European pedigree, Federico Piovacarri joined the Wanderers on 27 July as the club’s marquee signing for the 2015/16 season.

Hailing from the Pro Patria youth system, Federico joined Italian giants Internazionale in 2003. He would then enjoy successful loan stints with Vittoria and San Marino, scoring a combined 21 goals in 54 games.

In 2007, following another loan spell at Serie B’s Triestina, Federico was signed on a permanent deal by fellow Serie B club Treviso but his time there was cut short due to the club’s financial difficulties and in 2009 Federico found himself with Ravenna, where he finished the season as the club’s top goal scorer.

This trend would continue into next season at Cittadella, where Federico finished top goal scorer in the club’s 2010/11 Serie B campaign which saw him signed for Sampdoria on a four-year deal. He appeared only sporadically for the first team, and was promptly loaned to Brescia, Novara and Grosseto.

Following repeated loan spells Federico regained his mojo with Romanian champions Steaua Bucuresti during the 2013/14 season, scoring 16 goals in a league and cup double winning campaign before joining newly-promoted Eibar in La Liga, netting six times in 28 appearances.

Following his release from Sampdoria, Federico joined the Wanderers on 27 July as the club’s marquee signing and made his debut against Palm Beach Sharks in the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 16. The striker scored his first goal for the club in Round 6 against Melbourne City.

Federico departed the Wanderers at the conclusion of his contract on Thursday 5 May 2016.
