FFA Cup Preview: Edgeworth v Wanderers

NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers will look to continue their winning start to the new season when Tony Popovic’s side take on NPL Northern NSW Premiers Edgeworth at Magic Park tonight.

With the cup competition throwing up more surprises than ever in the 2016 instalment, the Red & Black must be wary of an Edgeworth team who have plenty of potential to continue the giant-killing trend.

Damian Zane’s side are unbeaten in their last seven fixtures across all competitions, defeating Maitland 2-1 at the weekend to secure consecutive Grand Final berths in the NPL Northern NSW.

The Wanderers will have to keep a close eye on the likes of former Hyundai A-League stalwart Daniel McBreen and exciting young Japanese prospect Keigo Moriyasu, a set-piece specialist who has netted 17 goals this campaign.
