With four players selected from the club, the Wanderers have double the amount of players in the squad than all other Hyundai A-League clubs combined.

It makes a total of 16 players from the Wanderers who have been selected for national duty in the past two weeks following six players travelling to Vietnam with the Young Socceroos and another six being called up to the Australian Schoolboys.

Wanderers Academy Technical Directory Ian Crook said the club was please for the players.

“The boys performances have been the tell-tale factor, they’ve performed well this year so I’m delighted for them”, said Crook.

“It all comes down to the fact performance outweighs potential. We said that to the players from the beginning and they’ve all performed well enough to put themselves in the national teams.

“Thanks needs to go to the coaches that have worked with these boys, not just this year but in previous years as well. There are a lot of people who can say they’ve played a part in the boys going to where they are now.”
