Marconi Stadium will play host to a Red & Black double header on Friday evening, with the Wanderers’ Westfield W-League and Foxtel Y-League teams both in action.

The Westfield W-League side will take on Perth Glory at 4:30pm, before East meets West for a Sydney Derby in the Foxtel Y-League at 7:30pm.

The Wander Women will welcome the top-of-the-table Perth Glory to Marconi Stadium for their Round 6 clash.

Despite being edged 3-2 last week against Canberra United, the Glory have won three of their opening five.

They also boast one of women football’s most in-form players in Sam Kerr, who was recently crowned AFC Women’s Player of the Year 2017.

Last week, the Wanderers were unlucky not to come away with three points in their visit to Melbourne Victory, having to settle for a 1-1 draw.

It leaves the Red & Black still within touching distance of the top four though head coach Rich Byrne will be keen to start turning performances into wins.

Meanwhile in the Foxtel Y-League, the Wanderers will be squaring off against Sydney FC in the first Sydney Derby of the season.

The Wanderers have made a blistering start to the season and sit atop Group B after two rounds.

In Round 1, they punished new boys Canberra Untied 8-0 before following that up with a solid 2-0 victory against Central Coast Mariners last week.

After a bye in Round 1, Sydney FC were held to a 1-1 draw by Newcastle Jets in their Round 2 fixture.

In what is a 10-game competition, the match carries some extra weight and neither side will want to relinquish bragging rights ahead of the second Derby in Round 8.
