FYL Preview: Wanderers v Newcastle

Tonight sees a top of the table clash in the Foxtel Y-League Conference B when the Western Sydney Wanderers take on Newcastle Jets at Marconi Stadium. 

The Wanderers enter the match coming off their third consecutive win in the competition.

Last Friday night, goals from Abraham Majok, Lachlan Scott and Mohamed Adam ensured a comfortable 3-1 victory in the Sydney Derby.

However, Newcastle Jets are also undefeated and come into the match after thumping Canberra United 6-3. 

Angus Thurgate scored four times for the Jets int hat clash and the Wanderers will need to keep their eyes on him if they are to maintain their winning ways. 

For the Wanderers, Fabian Monge has made an immediate impact since signing from Marconi at the end of the 2017 NPL 2 season. 

Monge scored on his debut for the club against Canberra and has played every single minute so far of this season, completing almost 90% of his passes. 

Mohamed Adam is another recent signing from Marconi who has put in some impressive shifts.  

The 17-year-old has demonstrated an eye for the goal – scoring 18 goals in 25 games for Marconi U20s this year and has also scored twice in the Wanderers first three Foxtel Y-League games. 

Kick-off is at 7:00pm and entry for the match is free for all Wanderers Members.
