HAL: Ins & Outs for Sunday’s match against Adelaide

Josep Gombau has named his squad for Sunday’s Hyundai A-League Round 8 match against Adelaide United at Coopers Stadium.

Tickets to the match are still available here.

There are three additions to the squad who claimed a point in Round 6’s 1-1 draw with Melbourne City, as Jack Clisby and Jacob Melling are promoted, while Josh Risdon returns from international duty after helping the Socceroos qualify for the FIFA World Cup.

Keanu Baccus drops out of the squad, while Chris Herd misses out on the match after recently celebrating the birth of his child in England.

Sunday’s match will mark the first league meeting between the two sides this season and comes after Adelaide’s 2-1 win in the Westfield FFA Cup Semi Final at Campbelltown Stadium in October.

While the Wanderers will be well rested following the postponement of last week’s match against Wellington, Adelaide are facing a quick turnaround after their 2-1 loss to Sydney FC in the Westfield FFA Cup Final on Tuesday night.

The last league meeting between the Wanderers and the Reds was on the final day of the 2016/17 season, with the Red & Black coming back from two goals down to come away from Coopers Stadium with a 2-2 draw.
