It’s that time of the year again – FIFA 18 is just around the corner and we’ve got the scoop on the best-rated players in the Hyundai A-League!

The scouts at EA SPORTS have spoken and handed down their judgements: the ratings showcase the top players in the game, with ratings based on performances from the last year of football.

5. Milos Ninkovic – Sydney FC – 75

The Johnny Warren medal winner got a big boost this season: four points up from last year’s rating of 71.

His biggest growth has been in his technical ability, which has seen jumps in his shooting, passing, and dribbling skills, while his physical attributes have slightly decreased.

Regardless, the Serbian is going to be a great 10 for any Hyundai A-League side.

4. Massimo Maccarone – Brisbane Roar – 75

Big Mac. He’s been included in FIFA games for a very long time – the earliest we could find was FIFA 06 when he was still with Middlesborough.

A big name in the game, and he only got better with age. 38 years old, and still near his peak at a 75 rating.

With a 78 in his shooting, if you can get the ball to him with space, he’s going to score bucketloads for you.

3. Alvaro Cejudo – Western Sydney Wanderers – 76

Another new addition to the Hyundai A-League who’s joined at the peak of his FIFA powers.

At 76 overall – the same rating as last year when he was at Betis in La Liga – Cejudo is the third best player in the Hyundai A-League right now, according to FIFA.

Pacy, a good dribbler, and strong with both feet; Cejudo will dominate the midfield for the Wanderers, or your Hyundai A-League Ultimate Team.

2. Diego Castro – Perth Glory – 76

One of the best to ever play in the Hyundai A-League, and his rating shows just that.

Last year, he started at 75, and two Teams of the Week, and a brilliant overall season later, and he’s been bumped up a point, despite his age.

His second Team of the Week last year saw him bumped up to 84 for a one of Ultimate Team card.

Overall, he’s not the strongest or the quickest, but his dribbling is second to none in the A-League, and his passing, shooting, and technical ability are all fantastic.

1. Bruno Fornaroli – Melbourne City – 76

Quick, physical, technically sound, can dribble, can shoot, works hard, and can hit it with both feet.

Bruno Fornaroli’s rise in the Hyundai A-League has been spectacular.

When he joined in FIFA 16, he was but a lowly 68 overall. 56 games and 42 goals later, he’s the top rated player in the Hyundai A-League for the second year in a row.
