Ins & Outs: Wanderers v Perth

Head coach Carl Robinson has named his extended squad for tomorrow night’s clash against Perth Glory.

Perth’s A-League outfit are without a win in three games, but ninth position on the table is a deceptive reflection of how Glory are placed ahead of their showdown with the second-placed Wanderers.

The Red and Black have 19 points after 12 games whilst Perth have 13 after nine fixtures to date.

It leaves Richard Garcia’s side with a simple equation on paper: win their games in hand to become Premiers Plate contenders.

But, as we’ve seen through an entertaining 12 Matchweeks to date, a challenge is never as simple as it seems in the 2020/21 A-League campaign.

Perth will be buoyed by a 2-2 draw with the league-leading Central Coast Mariners in Matchweek 12; as will the Wanderers, who beat Wellington Phoenix 4-3 in one of the games of the season.

Carl Robinson’s side have two wins from two after a three-game winless run left their place in the Top Six less secure in early March.
