Western Sydney Wanderers host Wellington Phoenix in Matchweek 12 intent on notching back-to-back wins to keep momentum building in Wanderland.

The Red & Black arrested their form slump in Matchweek 11, defeating Western United to end a two-game losing streak which followed a seven-game unbeaten run early in the 2020/21 campaign.

Carl Robinson’s side have seen their position in the top six become less secure of late, but consecutive wins will help their cause. To do so, however, the Wanderers will need to defeat a Phoenix side with two wins from two enjoying a greater reward for effort in recent times.

Wellington have secured successive clean sheets in wins over Newcastle Jets and Perth Glory, rising above the Jets and Melbourne Victory and away from the foot of the A-League table.

Ufuk Talay’s side will be buoyed by their performance last time out against the Wanderers in Matchweek 9. The Phoenix took the lead on that night in February, only to fall behind 2-1 before netting once more to rescue a point in an entertaining 2-2 draw.
