Jacob to add some Pepper to Wanderers

We have today announced the signing of midfielder Jacob Pepper until the end of the 2016/17 season.

Pepper, 23, will bolster the club’s midfield stocks with the former Olyroo proving himself to be one of the best up-and-coming players over recent Hyundai A-League seasons.

Having spent two years in the Football NSW development pathway, the box-to-box midfielder was picked-up by the Newcastle Jets and made his debut in 2010 but it was the 2011/12 season where he really made his mark with a number of barnstorming performances and goals.

Seeking a new challenge and an opportunity to better himself as a footballer after five seasons in the Hunter, Pepper says Western Sydney is a perfect fit.

“I’m really excited to be joining the Western Sydney Wanderers, I’m super excited for the challenge and I thank Popa and the club for giving me a chance and I look forward to a successful two years,” explained Pepper.

“I’ve seen how much the Wanderers have grown since formation and the type of club that they’ve become, that’s a factor in me signing – I’m excited to join the hype.

“Wanderers have got a good coach and good staff that can provide the pathway for me to become a better footballer.”
