CEO John Tsatsimas pens a letter to Members and fans about what’s ahead in 2016.

Dear Wanderers Family, I welcome you all on the first day of 2016: I hope 2015 was a good one for you and your families and I wish you all the very best for the New Year.

We are excited at what this brand new year holds for the Western Sydney Wanderers Football Club.

Our boys are top of the ladder entering the back end of the season and I could not be prouder of the efforts that have been put in by all at the club, including players, Tony Popovic and his coaching staff, administration staff, the Board and most importantly you, the Members, to help us get to where this club deserves to be. I also acknowledge the efforts of our corporate partners in that regard.

We look forward to our boys taking the field today and keeping us on track for qualifying for another AFC Champions League campaign and competing at the business end of the season for domestic honours.

This year we will see our Academy program debut under the guidance of Ian Crook and we are excited by the prospects that are involved in our program. We aim to see the fruits of the Academy program reflected in our Hyundai A-League team in good numbers in the not too distant future.

Our elite training and administration facility is coming along nicely and we will have more news in that space in the coming months.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your unwavering support and we can only continue to grow with you by our side. The last few months have shown that collectively we are an important voice in the Australian sporting landscape and in a much broader context can represent Western Sydney on the national and world stages, in keeping with our mantra of being a globally respected and recognised football club – the pride of Western Sydney Happy New Year!

See you at 7:40pm at Wanderland,

John Tsatsimas
