Kick-off for the Western Sydney Wanderers’ pre-season match against Wellington Phoenix on Sunday 13 September has been changed to 6pm to accommodate the NPL Grand Final to be played on the same day.
With the NPL Grand Final kicking-off at 3pm, it will give Western Sydney the chance to enjoy a full day of football.
Bonnyrigg White Eagles have already booked their place in the decider with Blacktown City taking on APIA Leichhardt this weekend to decide their opponent.
Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas said the change of kick-off was important for Western Sydney.
“With the potential of two Western Sydney teams contesting the NPL Grand Final, it was important that we changed our kick-off time to support the region.
“This will give fans the chance to experience a full day of high-level football while providing the best outcome for our sport as a whole.”
NPL Grand Final: 3pm Sunday 13 September, Leichhardt Oval
Wanderers v Phoenix: 6pm Sunday 13 September, Pirtek Stadium
Tickets to the Phoenix match are available to Members from 2pm on Friday 4 September and will be open to the general public on Tuesday 8 September.
