Wanderers aim to take a stranglehold on the battle for second place with victory over the Mariners on Saturday.

NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers will look to take a big step towards sealing second place when they take on Central Coast Mariners this Saturday 29 March at 5:30pm AEDT.

A win for the Wanderers will essentially put second spot out of reach for the Mariners, leaving Melbourne Victory as the Wanderers last remaining challenger for a top two finish.

While the occasion itself will be motivation enough for the players, defender Jerome Polenz says that a large amount of Wanderers fans could make the difference.

“Getting a big crowd of travelling fans will mean a lot,” said Jerome Polenz.

“There are always plenty of Western Sydney Wanderers fans at our Central Coast matches so we hope our supporters can once again make the stadium Red and Black.”

Wanderers head into the match confident having never lost in Gosford and will be looking to continue that trend and record a psychological advantage heading in to finals.

The last meeting at Central Coast Stadium saw a dominant Wanderers performance go unrewarded as a late Tomi Juric equaliser salvaged a point for the Red and Black.

Parity was restored in Round 11 when the Wanderers controlled the entire 90 minutes at Pirtek Stadium to record a strong victory.

Tickets are still available for away fans with Members needing their barcode number to purchase tickets in to the active area.
