The Wanderers recently bounced back from two consecutive loses to secure a very important three points on the road against Western United.

A lone goal from midfielder Jordon Mutch, his first of the competition, was just enough for the Red & Black to hold onto a win in rural Ballarat.

The Wanderers were led on the sidelines by assistant coach Kenny Miller who stepped up and replaced head coach Carl Robinson who was watching the match from the hotel due to illness.

Goalkeeper Daniel Margush once again put an impressive shift with the Wanderers defence holding down clean sheet away from home.

Similarly, Wellington Phoenix head into tonight’s match after an impressive victory over Perth Glory two Sunday’s ago.

The 3-0 victory was a master class in finishing after they saw off Perth Glory to claim their third victory of the A-League campaign.

Looking back to the two sides previous meeting, three goals in eight second-half minutes saw the Wanderers equalise, take the lead and then lose it as Wellington had the final say in a 2-2 draw at WIN Stadium.

The Wanderers will this time look to hold onto any lead in another match that is proving to be very integral in their Finals pursuits come the end of the season.
