Dreams of a Hyundai A-League team in Sydney’s west moved another step closer to reality with fans having their say at the first forum on the new franchise, which took place at Mounties, Mount Pritchard.

Head of the A-League Lyall Gorman was on hand to address the fans and he was pleased with the passion the fans had for the new team and believed they would continue to play a real role in how the club would be shaped.

“Tonight’s discussion was a true indication of the passion for football in the region and the responses were extremely informative and will go a long way in deciding the direction of the new club,” said Head of A-League Lyall Gorman.

“The advocacy and support of the local community in Western Sydney will serve as the basis for the new Sydney club’s foundations.

“The fan forums conducted across Western Sydney will serve to guide and shape the club’s colours, logo, culture, style and structure.”

The fervour reached a fever pitch at one point during the evning with fans ready to sink their teeth into a rivalrly with Sydney FC, at one point chanting “Western Sydney FC”.

FFA CEO Ben Buckley also shed light on the matter of a stadium, saying “The plan is to one day have a purpose built stadium for football in Western Sydney”.
