The Western Sydney Wanderers NPL 1 first grade team will be looking to build on last week's performance when they face APIA Leichhardt at Lambert Park tonight.
The Wanderers earned their first point last week in a spirited performance against Manly United and will need to really step-up when they come up against heavyweights APIA.
The Red & Black have been putting in some strong and memorable performances in their first season in the first division with Jarrod Carluccio, Dean Pelekanos and Ali Auglah being the stand-outs so far.
With the conclusion of the Hyundai A-League season, it is expected that head coach Arthur Diles will be bolstered by the return of players such as Tass Mourdoukoutas, Mathieu Cordier, Tate Russell, Mo Adam and Kosta Grozos, which will no doubt help the Red & Black push for their first win of the season.
Despite APIA being on the bottom of the ladder, their experienced team will be coming out fighting and looking to bounce back from a heavy 4-2 defeat against Wollongong last week.
The reigning Champions will be hoping to turn their season around for a hopes for a spot in Finals and will be looking to capitalise on a very young Wanderers side who have been embracing all that the NPL 1 has to offer over the last two weeks.
