It’s a battle of the West on Sunday when Western Sydney Wanderers NPL 2 first grade team face Bonnyrigg White Eagles.

The Red and Black host Bonnyrigg on the back of three wins in a row and will be full of confidence when they take to the pitch at Wanderers Football Park.

Patrick Zwaanswijk’s outfit made it a hat-trick of victories by seeing off Hills United 4-1 last week.

Another brace from Ali Auglah, his second in as many weeks, proved decisive as Western Sydney outplayed their bigger, more experienced opponents to go second on the ladder.

Indeed the Wanderers’ front third have been in fine form recently as Alessandro Lopane and Reuben Awaritefe also found themselves on the scoresheet. Lopane has developed a lethal combination in attack alongside Auglah while Awaritefe notched his first goal of the season after pouncing on a defensive mistake.

Their opponents on Sunday enter the fixture in seventh, having played a game less than Western Sydney.

Bonnyrigg were highly touted during pre-season after assembling a strong squad and although they have only won twice this campaign, will present a huge challenge for the Red and Black.

A win will give Wanderers a good shot at moving into first position so why not head down to Wanderers Football Park to cheer on the boys. Sunday’s match begins at 12:30pm and as always you can follow Twitter for live match updates.
