NPL 2 Preview: Western Sydney Wanderers v Mounties Wanderers

NPL

Western Sydney Wanderers will be hoping for a winning return to home when they face Mounties Wanderers.

The Red & Black will host their opponents, who share their name and home ground, at Wanderers Football Park.

The Round 15 NPL 2 clash is the second time these sides have met so far this season with Wanderers easily accounting for Mounties 5-0 last time out.

Mounties have only won one game this season, a 3-0 win over Blacktown Spartans back in Round 1.

They are however coming off an impressive 0-0 draw against fourth-placed NWS Spirit and have shown signs of improvement as the season has worn on.

Meanwhile, after a couple of extended winning streaks, Western Sydney have gone two games without victory for just the second time this season.

While a testament to Patrick Zwaanswijk’s side, the home team will be desperate to claim the three points and remain in second place on the ladder.

Their last performance was a tough 1-1 draw with Northern Tigers in one of the league’s toughest away trips.

A return to familiar surroundings in Rooty Hill will offer Western Sydney a chance to get back to the expansive and confident game they’ve developed this year.

The Round 15 match kicks off at 7:00pm. Make sure you keep an eye on Twitter for match updates.
