Western Sydney Wanderers captain Ellie Brush played a vital role in her match for the Northern Tigers, while a number of Wanderers also got some game time in Round 9 of the NPL NSW Women’s competition.

Canberra United’s striker Michelle Heyman made her first appearance for the Northern Tigers in their 2-1 win over North Sydney Koalas.

Heyman was lively early in the contest, but couldn’t prevent the Koalas from taking an early lead.

Wanderer Brush started the comeback for the Tigers, netting an equaliser early on in the second half before Hannah McNulty scored a spectacular winner two minutes from full-time.

Kyra Cooney-cross continued her bright start to the NPL season helping lead the Football NSW Institute to a thrilling victory over Macarthur Rams.

Featuring a plethora of rising stars including Wanderers Jada Whyman, Rachel Lowe and Susan Phonsongkham, the Institute opened up a 3-0 lead at half-time, before surviving a furious comeback from the Rams to emerge as 5-3 victors.
