This Saturday, the Western Sydney Wanderers NPL 2 first grade team will travel to Christie Park to face Spirit FC.

Spirit FC are currently in seventh place, one spot ahead of the Wanderers, and will be heading into the match confident after defeating Parramatta FC 2-0 last Sunday.

The opponent’s main threat will be Kevin Lopes who has netted even goals in their opening eight games.

There will be some familiar faces on Saturday with the Spirit FC squad consisting of former Wanderers Academy players Mackenzie Syron and Ahmed Sweedan.

For the Red & Black, Abdelrahman Kuku has featured regularly this season and has gone from strength-to-strength.

Kuku signed for the Academy in 2016 after a stint with Bankstown City. After playing for the Academy’s U20 side at the start of 2016, Kuku went on to play for the Wanderers in both the NPL 2 first grade and the Foxtel Y-League competition.

Adrian Valenti is another Wanderer who has recently impressed. Valenti joined the Wanderers last year after playing for Marconi during the 2017 NPL season and made his Foxtel Y-League debut against Newcastle Jets in December.

After starting the 2018 NPL season with our U20s team, Valenti stepped up to the first grade team last week, putting in a solid performance at left back.

The Wanderers previous meeting with Spirit FC ended in a 1-1 draw back in June 2017. Kyle Cimenti scored for the Wanderers that night.
