On Tuesday night, the Red & Black will look to bounce back from last weekend’s loss when they face Bonnyrigg White Eagles at Valentine Sports Park.

Originally scheduled for Saturday, the game was rescheduled following the call-up of five Wanderers Academy players to this week’s Young Socceroos training camp in Canberra. Jarrod Carluccio, Lochlan Constable, Fabian Monge, Noah Pagden and Jacob Vasiliou were all named in the squad.

Bonnyrigg are coached by former Central Coast Mariner Wayne O’Sullivan and go into this round in third place.

Asmir Kadric is their top scorer with nine goals and they also have players with Hyundai A-League experience in the form of captain Sam Gallaway and David Vrankovic.

The Wanderers last meeting with Bonnyrigg was in May and ended in a 2-2 draw. Mohamed Adam and Noah Pagden were the goalscorers for the Red & Black that night.

For the Wanderers, Yousef Sawalha could be one to keep an eye on in the future. A former Football NSW Institute player, Sawalha signed for the Red & Black in 2016.

The midfielder has scored six goals in 20 games for the Wanderers U20s side and made his NPL 2 first grade debut for the club back in June.

Stefan Nikolic is another player who has been impressing for the U20s.

Nikolic joined the Wanderers last year from Blacktown City and made an immediate impact, scoring 36 goals in 25 games for the U15 team.

This year’s move up to the U20s team hasn’t fazed Nikolic and he is the team’s top scorer with 13 goals to his name, including two hat-tricks.
