The Wanderers will be looking to register their first win of the 2018 NPL 2 season when they play St George FC at Sydney United Sports Centre on Sunday afternoon.

Coached by former Sydney United and Marconi player, Terry Palapanis, St George finished 2nd in the league last season and are expected to be a difficult opponent for the Red & Black.

St George’s danger man and player to watch will be Juan Carlos Romero. The Spanish striker was the joint second top scorer in the NPL 2 last season, finishing with 20 goals.

Romero has already got off the mark for this season, opening the scoring in last week’s 3-3 draw with Parramatta FC.

For the Wanderers, Abraham Majok will be one to watch. The pacey winger scored twice against North Shore Mariners last week, continuing his form over from the Foxtel Y-League 2017/18 season, where he was the Wanderers top scorer in the competition with nine goals.

Lachlan Scott was another prominent player in the Red & Black’s Foxtel Y-League campaign, capping off a solid season with a goal in the Grand Final. Scott also found the back of the net in last week’s game, taking his tally to 16 goals in only 14 NPL 2 appearances.

The Wanderers are undefeated in their last four games against St George FC and will be looking to continue that streak on Sunday afternoon.
