It was a clean sweep for the Wanderers Academy youth teams who took on Mt Druitt Town Rangers and Hakoah in the National Premier League over the weekend.

U13s 10-0 win
Head coach: Rob Bradshaw

From the first moment, the Wanderers took control of the contest and threatened early by creating many opportunities but struggled to convert. Despite losing their way a little towards the back end of the half, the Red & Black went into the break with a 4-0 lead. After the break the team were relentless and kept pushing, finishing the match off at 10-0. Special mention to Antonio Arena and Joey Banza with four goals each, Jonas Antolik and Zane Najjarine with a goal apiece.

U14s 3-0 win
Head coach: Peter Kofinas

It was an overall good performance on the weekend against tough opposition. The Wanderers defended well as a team and prevented Mt Druitt from using their strengths and ultimately controlled most of the game after taking the lead in the third minute. Goalscorers were Riley Nolan, Leon Alizart, and Oscar Morrison.

U15s 6-2 win
Head coach: Yianni Tsattalios

The U15s got off to a strong start against Mt Druitt with an early goal from Max Hately in the 8th minute. The lead was short-lived as Mt Druitt scored an equaliser through a nice free-kick from outside the box. From there, the Red & Black took control and scored three more goals to send them into the break 4-1 up. Mt Druitt scored a penalty to make it 4-2 early in the second half but the young Wanderers added two more goals late on to make the final score 6-2. A great team performance and the U15s continue to build some good momentum heading into the final 2 weeks of the first round of the season.

U16s 4-0 win
Head coach: Geoff Abrahams

The 16s had a 4-0 win against an opponent who provided a test in the front third, making it very hard to break them down. It was a patient and professional performance which saw the game sitting at 1-0 for quite a while. But the Wanderers controlled the game from start to finish and in the end capitalised on their chances in front of the goal to win 4-0. Goals to Edmun Haddad, Marcus Younis, and two goals off the bench to Max Hately capped off a fantastic performance by the team.

U18s 4-2 win
Head coach: Dean Mayer

The 18s continued their winning streak this weekend against a physical and determined Mt Druitt side. The opposition were the first to break the deadlock, scoring from a corner halfway through the first half. The team bounced back well, being denied a goal by a tight offside call and then finally equalizing themselves from a Thomas Lopez header, a minute before halftime. The second half started well with Edmun Haddad scoring after a Jesse Photi shot was parried into his path. Anthony Pavlesic had an outstanding game making numerous clutch saves to keep the team in the contest. Mt Druitt levelled the game again when a defensive error led to a chance well taken halfway through the second half. The team dug deep to pile on the pressure and finally found enough space for Will Freney to slide Jesse Photi through on goal to take the lead. In the final minutes, a bit of individual brilliance from Miguel Di Pizio as he created enough space for a cross which found Edmun Haddad who again was able to capitalise with his second and the teams 4th of the match
