Player Watch: A record ten

Thumbnail

The weekly segment which takes you through what our players are doing during the Westfield W-League and Foxtel National Youth League off-season.

This allows you to follow how our players are performing for their NPL and overseas clubs while keeping you up-to-date with fixtures in case you’d like to go and watch them live.

Men’s NPL 1

Thomas Manos and the South Coast Wolves celebrated a 4-2 victory over Parramatta FC. Manos came out of the box for six crosses and made a fantastic save off a header.

U20

Michael Trajkovski and Sydney Olympic entered the record books after becoming the first team to score ten goals in an U20s match after defeating Manly United 10-3.

Trajkovski helped the team achieve this historic moment by scoring two goals and assisting two. He should have went on to score a hat trick after a great run which saw him beat four defenders on the edge of the box only to have his shot blocked.

Anthony Schmidt played a full match for Marconi Stallions in their 1-1 draw against Blacktown Spartans. In the first half he made an overlapping run to cross the ball into the box, sadly the receiving header just missed the top right corner of the goal.

NPLW 1

Jordan Baker and Michelle Carney together with the Illawarra Stingrays defeated Macarthur Rams 1-0. Baker set up the only goal of the match that was scored by fellow teammate Carney.

FNSW Institute defeated Manly United 3-0. Demi Koulizakis from the Institute played well helping her team keep most of the possession during the game which led her to set up one of the goals. Lorena Budgen was still out with injury.

Sydney University with Grace Henry, Victoria Guzman and Rachel Soutar defeated the NWS Koalas 3-1. Henry set up the first goal for University.

USA

Seattle Reign and Keelin Winters are now sitting on the top of the table after their 4-2 victory over Western New York Flash FC.

Kendall Johnson and Portland Thorns lost 1-0 against Sky Blue FC.
