The NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers have today announced the departure of foundation players Mateo Poljak and Labinot Haliti.

Since joining the Red & Black in 2012 both players were integral in the success of the Club to date.

Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas thanked both players for their service and attitudes since their arrival during the Club’s formation.

“Both Mateo and Labinot have been absolutely outstanding ambassadors for this Club since our formation and while their time here now comes to a close they will be remembered for their achievements on the field and the attitude and values they exhibited off it,” said Tsatsimas.

“Their time with the Club saw us go through a period of unprecedented success and they will forever be fondly remembered by all members of the Wanderers family.”

“If it wasn’t for the Wanderers I wouldn’t have come to Australia. Coming to Australia, playing for the Wanderers changed my life in such a positive way. Playing for the Wanderers is the biggest thing that has happened in my career.

“This Club will always have a special place in my heart and I have nothing but gratitude for the unbelievable memories I take away with me.”

Haliti said he will always hold Wanderers close to his heart.

“The Club has made me who I am today. These last three years we have seen so much success – when you achieve so much in such a short time it is hard to explain,” said Haliti.

“To the fans, I will never forget your support and passion and to the coaching staff, the boss and the administration of the Club, to achieve the things we did together was amazing and something I can never forget.”
