Pre-season wrap: Wanderers crush Gold Coast Knights

Western Sydney Wanderers FC have warmed up for their FFA Cup Round of 32 game against Perth Glory with a resounding 5-0 win over Queensland NPL club Gold Coast Knights on the Gold Coast on Thursday night.

In their fourth hit out of the pre-season, the Wanderers looked sharp and hungry against a Knights side that provided some decent opposition.

Kwame Yeboah continued his good, early season form with a brace, following up his fine goal against English club Leeds just six days earlier.

Yeboah opened the scoring after just four minutes then added a second in the 51st minute while Bruce Kamau also helped himself to a double. Radoslaw Majewski rounded off the scoring with a goal in the 90th minute.

Yeboah and Majewski were in sparkling form, causing the NPL side plenty of problems with their creativity.

The duo created numerous chances while Pirmin Schwegler was outstanding in the midfield.

Markus Babbel made a number of changes as the game progressed with Kosta Grozos coming on for Mitchell Duke after 40 minutes and Daniel Georgievski for Daniel Wilmering in the 55th minute.

The game rounded off the Wanderers week-long training camp on the Gold Coast.
