Along with the returning of centre back Artiz Borda after his one match suspension, Jacob Melling has also been named in the extended squad.

The squad will also see a new captain as Dimas was announced as the club’s third official captain following the departure of foundation player Nikolai Topor-Stanley.

While Dimas has captained the Wanderers on game days before, this will be the first time he will lead the squad as club captain.

For the Jets, their positive start to the season has seen a sense of excitement in the Hunter region not seen for a long time.

An opening round draw against Champions Adelaide was followed by a 4-0 mauling of Brisbane Roar in Newcastle.

Jason Hoffman returning from injury is the only change for the Novocastrians.
