Raised in Penrith, Richard started playing football in 2006 for Emu Plains FC.
Following two years with Emu Plains, Richard joined Glenmore Park in 2009 where he remained for three seasons.
The defender spent the 2012 season at Blacktown Spartans before moving to Mounties Wanderers in the following year.
Richard joined the Wanderers Academy in 2016.
