Western Sydney Wanderers continue their history making season when they play Sanfrecce Hiroshima in the AFC Champions League Round of 16 tonight.
You can watch live on Fox Sports 3 with kick-off at 8pm AEST.
The first Champions League match since the Red and Black claimed the biggest ACL win by an Australian Club, a 5-0 thrashing of Guizhou Renhe, the Wanderers will be desperate to make amends for Sunday-s A-League Grand Final loss and return home with a good result.
A victory for the Wanderers would be a big step towards becoming the first Australian club to make it to the Quarter Finals in their first attempt.
There is extra significance in this match with Tony Popovic having played at Senfrecce for four seasons.
Our head coach played over 70 times for the Three Arrows from 1997 until 2001 and is still a revered figure in the stands at Hiroshima.
Sanfrecce are the current J-League Champions having finished on top of the ladder for the past two seasons while currently they sit fourth on the table.
Finishing second in Group F, Sanfrecce won two and drew three of their six matches with a 1-0 win against Central Coast Mariners in the final match sealing qualification.
Wanderers, conversely, qualified top of Group H with four wins: in doing so earning the right to host the second leg which will be played on Wednesday 14 May at Parramatta Stadium.
The team who scores the most goals over the two matches will move on to the Quarter Finals with away goals counting as double if the score is even after the two matches.
Tickets to the second leg are currently on sale for Members with the general public able to access them on Friday 9 May.
