The NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers will be aiming to get their winning ways back on track when they head to Westpac Stadium to take on the Wellington Phoenix this Sunday 1 December with kick-off at 3:00pm AEDT.

Head down to Club Marconi and watch the match on the big screens surrounded by your Wanderers family with the option of watching the Westfield W-League team take on Brisbane Roar at Marconi Stadium.

The danger man for Wellington Phoenix is Carlos Hernandez who leads the league in terms of goal assists, however since their 1-1 draw with the Wanderers at Pirtek Stadium in Round 2 the New Zealanders have only managed six goals from six outings.

So far this season the Wanderers have picked up 14 points while losing only once. In contrast the Phoenix have picked up a dire three points from a possible 18, drawing three and loosing three – something former Melbourne Victory coach Ernie Merrick will be hard at work to turn around.

Head-to-head the Wanderers have the upper hand with two wins against one from four previous matches, but the record is even across the ditch with one win apiece.

Wellington are yet to concede more than 2 goals in a match this season so the Red and Black of Western Sydney will look to mount the pressure early on and work away at their defence. But with midfield ace Shinji Ono out the Wanderers will have to stay concise in the middle of the park and ensure the yellow fever-s main man Hernandez doesn-t get a hold.

The Phoenix have proven weak defensively but the Wanderers will have to ensure a tight defence in the beginning of the second period when they-ve copped 50% of their goals.

Both sides have scored the majority of their games in the final 15 minutes – setting the game up for an exciting finish!
