Sydney sinks Wanderers

The Western Sydney Wanderers have been defeated 3-1 by Sydney FC in the Sydney Derby on Saturday afternoon at ANZ Stadium.

A double by Remy Siemsen as well as a goal from Lisa De Vanna silenced the Wanderers whose lone goal by Ellie Brush was not enough to turn the tide in the Sydney Derby.

Siemsen was on hand to tap in an opener after 21 minutes and followed it up with a superb curling strike to make it 2-0 three minutes later.

match report

Brush got the Wanderers back in the contest with a penalty on 40 minutes before De Vanna made it 3-1 to the Sky Blues after pouncing on a mistake by the Wanderers keeper on 62 minutes.

Siemsen went close to her hat-trick with five minutes of regulation time left but Whyman made a good stop to keep the score at 3-1.
