Things you need to know for tonight’s match against Jets

The Jets have won just one of their last eight games – and that was back in October. Scott Miller’s side are enduring a desperate run of form that has seen fire four blanks in their last six.

They failed to register a single shot against Adelaide in November’s 0-0 encounter – becoming the first side to do so since Opta began their Hyundai A-League coverage.

The form guide suggests this festive clash is a home banker for Tony Popovic’s league leaders but the Wanderers have never beaten the Jets at Pirtek Stadium, conceding seven and scoring three in four fixtures.

Against their old clubs

Thursday’s Christmas Eve fixture could see several players face up to their former employers with the Jets boasting three former Wanderers and AFC Champions League winners amongst their ranks.

Mateo Poljak has been a nailed on starter for Miller whilst Daniel Mullen could return to the side after recovering from a knee injury. Labinot Haliti had played just 24 minutes before his club homecoming was cruelly cut short by a season-ending knee injury. Former Wanderers youth prospect Josh Barresi is a member of the Jets NYL squad.

Meanwhile, Wanderers quadrant of Nikolai Topor-Stanley, Scott Neville, Jacob Pepper and Mark Bridge have amassed nearly 250 appearances combined for the Novocastrians with Bridge winning the 2007/08 grand-final.
