The NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers have today announced the signing of midfielder Marc Tokich for the next two Hyundai A-League seasons.
The 17-year-old attacking midfielder joins the Wanderers after a two-year stint at the FFA Centre of Excellence (FFA COE) in Canberra.
An Australian U17s representative, Tokich joined the COE in 2015 on a scholarship after being invited to train with the squad a year prior.
The Canberra FC junior’s rapid development at the COE has seen him be heralded as one of Australia’s rising stars known for his versatility and technical ability.
An impressive 2016/17 season saw Tokich crowned the Foxtel National Youth League Player of the Year at the Dolan Warren Awards.
More recently, Tokich was selected for a Young Socceroos training camp in February that featured four players from the Wanderers Academy.
Tokich said he was excited about the challenge ahead.
“I’ve been working towards this since I started playing football and it’s definitely the first step in my professional career and I’m really looking forward to it,” he said.
“The set-up here at the Wanderers is very professional and it shows with the success that the club has had in the past and I’m sure it’ll be a perfect place to develop and start my professional career.”
