Young striker Tom Juric has signed a 2 year deal with the NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers leading into this season-s Hyundai A-League campaign.

The 22-year-old joins the Wanderers after completing a short-term stint with Adelaide United, having recently returned to Australia after five years of playing abroad in Croatia.

He scored a goal in his first appearance for Adelaide as a substitute against Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium.

That finish landed Juric in the competition-s history books – as the scorer of the fastest goal by an A-League debutant.

He was on the scoreboard again the following week against Wellington Phoenix and made a total of seven appearances for United in the backend of the season as they wrapped up their season in fourth position.

Juric will look to compliment the stock of Wanderers forwards with his strong and determined eye for goal.

Born in western Sydney, and having recently returned to Australia after playing overseas, Juric is relishing the opportunity to play in front of a home crowd at Parramatta Stadium with the reigning Premiers.

“I am very excited to be given the opportunity to come and join the Wanderers,” Juric said.

“I have the utmost respect for Tony Popovic and everything he has achieved this year. For me to now join him and the club as they prepare for the next season is very exciting and will really help me grow as a player.

“To come back to Sydney and play in western Sydney where I grew up is real motivation to work hard and become a better player.

“To also come back into a team that is preparing for both the A-league season and the AFC Champions League is an amazing opportunity for me.”

Executive Chairman Lyall Gorman said the marksman would be a wonderful addition to the club.

“Tom provides added potency to our front line and we are very excited to have him form part of our squad for this coming season,” Gorman said.

His strength and pace enhances our front third and we look forward to seeing him in action in the red and black hoops.

“The signing of Tom to our club is a great addition and continues our commitment to enhance our playing roster ahead of the Hyundai A-League 2013/14 season and of course our first ever participation in the AFC Champions League.

“His signing is further reflective of our club-s culture and commitment to bring home players who have grown up in the western Sydney region, as Tom has.”
