Nikolai Topor-Stanley couldn’t be happier at the Wanderers and after three successive victories in the pre-season so far he is looking to continue working hard ahead of what is going to be an exciting first season in the Hyundai A-League.
Nikolai Topor-Stanley couldn-t be happier at the Wanderers and after three successive victories in the pre-season so far he is looking to continue working hard ahead of what is going to be an exciting first season in the Hyundai A-League.
The 27-year-old has made 132 appearances in the A-League and has enjoyed the time working with Coach Tony Popovic.
“Popa, being a centre back himself wants us to be tight across the back there, so to have had not conceded a goal so far is great but we need it to continue,” Nikolai said.
Although only being together for a short time Topor-Stanley agrees that combinations and fitness are the two main components of the game that they need to work on.
“We-re working hard together and really focusing on our fitness,” he said. “We-re putting a lot of pressure on ourselves to perform well.
“We-ve got a while to go but the more games that we get together, obviously the better we will feel around each other.”
